Assemble for the Ultimate Movie Marathon – the Avengers

AMC Theatres will be hosting a movie marathon on May 3rd starting at 11:30am leading up to the midnight release of the Avengers. ”The Ultimate Marvel Marathon” will include Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, THOR, Captain America the First Avenger and then a midnight screening of the Avengers. The event will be taking place in select cities across the US, so limited seating is available. Click the link above for a listing of participating cities.
I can’t think of a better reason to play hookie from work than to spend the day at the theatre watching Marvel movies – but maybe that’s just me. Plus, you’ll get to choose a custom pair of 3D glasses for the event from four different styles (Thor, Hulk, Ironman or Captain America).
And I know what you’re thinking – but no . . . I don’t have any affiliation with AMC Theatres other than the fact that I’m a Stubs member. It’s just a super cool event and you can’t beat the price ($40).

I’m really hoping this movie is good. They replaced Ed Norton with the love interest from “13 Going on 30″, they have the second worst choice for Captain America”, and they have the “no-I-swear-they-sren’t-the-Skrulls-or-Kree” aliens as the main threat. This has a huge potential to be really bad. I love almost everyone in the cast, but Iron Man and Thor can’t carry an Avengers film on their own. I love comics. Hell, Captain America is my favorite, but I’m very worried about how this is going to be.
